No dyno time I'm afraid. I've spent years modding late model Ford V8 Windsors and am getting bit tired of dyno charts, injection table and power/torque values etc. I kinda just want to slow down, go outside and drive these days.

Here are some pics of the Pacemaker PH12670 (fits to Pre-Cats, primary pipe: 1 ⅝" or 41mm, secondary pipe: 44mm, outlet (flanged): 2" or 51mm (51mm).

        Bloody hell, you guys!

I really did want to stop spending money on my car - then along you all come and get me interested in bloody extractors and a unichip...

        Does it ever end?

By the time I'm done, this car's gonna cost me more than the space shuttle.

I also just had a set of Pacemakers fitted - and couldn't get over the pre-historic manifold that they replaced. Toyota must have dug up someone to design the manifold for them

              The pacies look great!
So how different is the drive now from standard? And more importantly have you noticed any difference in fuel?... how much better is the fuel economy?

Most of your common insurers will allow a certain number of modifications - I'm with AAMI now and the last time around with them they allowed up to 3 only.

As I've had heavily modified Fords during the past few years I've had to go with Shannons however I'm back with AAMI now as they're 2/3 the price and I don't expect to me modifying the car much at all.

There's a difference between factory option, accessory and modification. headers are a mod whereas the most common add-ons to a 4wd tend to be options or accessories. It's always best to check with your insure a couple of times as you'd be surprised how often you'll get a different answer each time you call! That said, there are mods that are obvious and many that aren't, even to an experienced assessor.

You've reminded me to check with AAMI again to see if they still have the same policy - just to be 100% safe but I'd be shocked if they didn't.

Looks great fellas, welcome to the extraction club.

$770? Was this fitted? (I hope not!) I guess the pacemaker systems don't include the intermediate pipes back to the middle muffler.

They sure do make a difference to the performance. I'm glad others have had the chance to experience it.

                  Cheers,

                  Drew.

Yeah, that price included fitting. No further pipe work beyong the cats and pre-cats... upon close inspection we agreed that the stock pipe work was pretty good as it was. Whilst the T-junction doesn't look so good from the outside the turns and channeling on the inside is quite different and works well (we 'disected' another one removed from a 120 to find this after that car had the pipe replace solely on the impression from the outside).

Beyond the headers the main restriction is the large tri-flow muffler (the rear muffler is straight through already) - if this were changed to a straight through unit you'd have a pretty good system all 'round. That said a full system takes you even further but the headers and main muffler alone will get you 90% there. Good flow is good, but too much flow will redard performance and fuel economy.

So wannawodka - are you planning on replacing the middle muffler or are you waiting for the stock unit to expire?

If I change the primary it'll be after the existing one dies I think. I can't really justify spending the money when the existing muffler is still in perfect condition and would rather spend the $ on something else for the car. Also, my house has been filled with V8 rumbles for years and I'm kinda enjoying the quiet.

                          Extractors

Can someone explain why you would buy the longer type like the genie wildcat 278 rather than the easier to fit short pacemaker or genie 277 ?

If anyone is interested in the Pacemaker Headers, send me a PM.
I'm looking at buying some and can get a pretty sweet deal on supply only. Obviously fitting will be an additional cost unless you can do it yourself, but should still ending up saving you some cash.
