Long time readed... first time poster...

I have been reading the forum's here since I started looking at the Prado's last year, and decided to pick up a V6 with 6 speed manual. Thought it was time I posted some fuel stats of the truck...(last 2 tanks)

          1083 kms using 146 litres
          1136 kms using 156 litres

Average 100kms a day running from Ipswich to Brisbane in peak hour traffic...

Pedro... can you please send me a copy of your spreadsheet?

My worst tank was 15.1 L / 100 Km with some sand and track work.

My best has been 13.8 L / 100 Km with 700 Km of country driving at 110 Kph.

I've yet to see how it goes on long runs with the loaded camper trailer in tow.

The average, around home, work and the city is low 14's.

                Cheers

my speedo is out slightly due to the bigger diametre tyres, 70 series as apposed to the factory 65 series, so my km figure is out slightly, maybe a smart person could work exactly how much hehehehe ops:

Seems most fitting 70 series end up with 3-5% speedo error.

This would increase your fuels comsumption (Worked on a 4% average) to 14.25 litres per 100kms. (Approx).

                      Hi all.

Around town I am getting a pretty constant 14.5L/100 out of my V6 manual (6Spd) with 265/70/17 Cooper ATR's, 2.5" lift, steel bulbar, winch & snorkel. These are real figures corrected for the larger tyres (ie, I use more fuel but I also travel 6% further than my odo says).

We live out of town so 50-60% of my driving is at 80-100Km/h.

I also have a set of Mickey Thompson MTX's in 265/70/17 and while I do not have any real figures yet, it does take more fuel to turn them.

                      Paul.

Thanks Team Piggy, but if my tyre diametre is bigger, my speedo is reading say 100 but im actually doing 105kmh ish and if I travel 100km on my speedo I have actually travelled 105 ish km, so then that would mean I should have a lower fuel consumption figure ? Bearing in mind the 13.7 l per 100 is for the trip from Sydney to Brisbane so very little city mostly highway.

Just having a look at my consumption figures after traveling 11,000 kms since new. Overall average is 13.2 litre per 100km, This covers an outback trip of 4,500km - otherwise around Newcastle & one trip on Stockton Beach. Plus one trip to Brisbane with 4 adults.

Best tank was 11.9 & worst has been 14.9.

Overall I am very happy with these figures,

                            Thanks for that, willykj.

As an aspiring 4L V6 owner, it's good to know the petrol engine is not too bad on the fuel economy front.

                              Nice Matt.

Mine drinks a bit more due to the rack and awnings. I might remove them for everyday use and probably save a couple of litres per hundred kms's.

Must also think about getting me one of them scanguage thingos - they sound great.
