Well after stumbling across this site from the 4wd Monthly forums, i found it to be just what i have been looking for. A great forum, low on the wank factor that is involved in other circles.

I have a 2003 GXL V6 Manual with Mickey Thompson MTZ
Have had her for a year and due to time constraints havent had a real opportunity to test her out in the scrub Other than the odd divert across sugarloaf to get home instead of the freeway.

In the near future i would like to put on a ARB deluxe winch bar, Snorkle (Snorkle is high on my list after the recent rains up around here) and lift kit. Plus the obligatory UHF and GPS

Top stuff on a great site, i am sure i will learn a lot and hope i have something to offer as well

            Hi all,

I'm just about ready to take the plunge in getting my first Prado. I'm currently tossing up between the GXL and VX TD (I like the extra safety features), the Grande is just too much for my better half to justify  I was talking with a Toyata sales rep last week and he mentioned that they are changing the GXL specs, as of 25th July, to include climate control (including rear vents) and options for VSC and side airbags. I haven't got any prices yet, but this makes the GXL pretty much a VX without the leather, so may be able to save a few dollars and get some of the many accessories others have (and suggested).

I have found this forum very useful, well done to all. Hopefully I'll post some good news in the next few weeks

            Cheers,
            Begs (Ray).

So congrats on a great site, its been good for tips, to find out about common problems and remedies as well just finding out what other owners are doing with their cars.

                        Welcome Wade76,

This site can become a bit additive as a lot of us have found.
                        At the same time rewarding.

                            Hi Wade76.
                            Welcome aboard.

Now all we need is some pics of your rig.
One of our forumites is going past your way at the moment.
Look out for a prado with pradopoint.com sticker on the back.

                            Jeff.
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

                              Hi All,

Great to at last be a member of the forum. I have just ordered a VX diesel Prado yesterday, delivery is quoted as being between 12 and 14 weeks.

This is a lease car so I received a hefty discount as a fleet buyer, I still managed to eat up most of the discount with fitting extras to it but hey that's the fun part.

My family and I live most of the year in Alice Springs but we also have a house in Corlette at Port Stephens where we tend to spend our vacations away from here. I see there is a fair presence on the board from members in the Hunter region. We are going to be spending about 3 months down in Corlette come the 12 Nov 07 through till the 02 Feb 08 as my wife is scheduled for a C-Section on the 21 Nov at the Newcastle Private hospital near the John Hunter.

Anyway I look forward to participating in the forum discussions in the future.

                              Cheers
