    Model:GX Turbo Diesel D4D
    Year: 2007
    Colour: White
Accessories: BFG LT265/65R17 A/T's (as an OEM tyre size these have actually "slowed" down my speedo, now at 100km/h on speedo I am actually travelling at 95 - 97km/h ??????), Black widow full length alloy roofrack, Airtec snorkel, TJM XGS Gold 50mm suspension lift (with strut top mounts for more strength), PolyAir bags inside springs, Full height cargo barrier, ARB Outback Solutions cargo draws (not as good of quality as I would have expected for the price and name), TJM underbody sump and transmissioin guards, solenoid isolated dual battery system (soon to be replaced with CTEK D250S Dual system which is on order), 60L engel fridge mounted to Platinum drop down slide, IPF900 spotlights with clear covers, mesh grille gaurd, Clear acrylic light protectors, Toyota OEM Sovereign alloy bullbar, Toyota OEM towbar and wiring, Terrain tamer pre fuel filter (stanadyne product), diff breathers into engine bay, LED interior courtesy lights, Prodigy P3 brake controller, Tyre Dog TPMS, Korr lighting folding 165W solar panel, AJ120 (PP member) sidesteps, Bushranger wheelie bin, canvas racksack.
Wishlist: UHF radio, Miccon Turbo timer P&P, Exhaust system, Dyno tune by really good diesel mechanic .................
I have finally got around to installing a 3" Manta aluminised exhaust system, had the injectors replaced due to the "cold knock" issue and had MTQ Adelaide do both jobs.
I also installed LED reversing lights and an electronic fuse to the 7.5 amp "ALT-S" today. The electronic fuse is to increase the Alternator output and is currently charging the battery at 14.5V vs 14.2V prior.
The Miccon Turbo timer was installed a will ago and is working well.
Haven't done the CTEK D250S dual system so far as can't find the space!
Also changed out the 60L engel and drop slide for a 40L and drop slide, 60L taking up too much real estate and only the wife and me these days.
    Cheers

      • Welcome Ben.

Amusing wish list but I think you'll (unfortunately) find that very little will go wrong or rattle off of the 1KZ!

Enjoy the trip and share some photos too.
        Cheers
        Micheal.

              • Hi there - Newbie from Toowomba

Hi all - I am a newbie to the Pradopoint page and am so glad it exists ! Am also a newbie to 4WD'ing and after extensive research decided that the Prado was the best vehicle for me (the wife and our three dogs).
I am posting up to Darwin soon and didn't want to do the drive in my old Mitsubishi van.
I test drove the Prado I want today and it is looking good - - decent price - am going to have the RACQ do a mechanical inspection - if it's all good I will finally own my first four wheel drive. Details are as follows:
                Name: Steve
Currently lives: Toowoomba - moving to Darwin
Details of my (soon to be I hope) vehicle.

                Colour: White
                Accessories:
Tow Ball - that's it ! Haa haa

                Wishlist:
                Bull-Bar
                Redarc electronic trailer brakes
Alloy Roof Rack (cage type for swags)
                Codan HF Radio
                Snorkel
                2" lift kit

Just a simple wish list for now till we get more money together.

Am happy to be a member of this great forum and looking forward to meeting you via posts
                Cheers

                    • Gday everybody, been visiting and then lurking a while after getting a prado 4 or 5 months ago. Better finally make a comment.
                      Model: gxl v6
                      Year:2007
                      Colour: silver
Accessories: was bog stock when I bought it, but in the last 2 weekends, dobinson/bilstien lift thanks to Zordo. Xrox bar. Some shitty 50w ebay LED fog lights, (fark me those things are bright for 50 bucks for the pair) a runva 9500 comp winch which is STILL in transit and apparently on it's way to my local 4wd store, and has been for the last week and a half. So I guess this is kind of half on the wish list. Only I've already paid for it, so the wishing part is that I wish it actually turns up.

Actual wish list: under body protection. The last trip I went on with the family dinged up, and filled the stock prot. ripped out the little windows of mess and filled them with clay/mud.
Spare set of 5 rims with some 265/70/17 muds. These are already at the tyre shop waiting for me. Just have to go and actually pay for them...
Some rock sliders, you know, just cos. It's what I tell the mrs.

Here are some pics from tonight after getting the xrox on. I'll tweak it a bit after I get the winch in. No sense in getting it sitting pretty when Ill be probably pulling it off to put a winch in it after a couple of days.
Why couldn't I just wait until I got the winch...

                      • Oh yeah, and some spotties. and probably a UHF to listen to truckies and lollipop men when I'm bored. Probably a snorkel for reasons, and if it fits in the garage, IF (just barely now) ... a roof rack.

                          • Hi all,

Just joined this great forum but have been visiting for a few weeks now. It was interesting joining in the same week that a new PM was elected. The confirmation question I have to answer when registering was "what is the surname of the current Australian Prime Minister?" according to pradopoint its still Tony Abbott

Anyway, my wife and I just had our first baby and my 2 door Hilux won't cut it any more for holiday trips so I naturally decided to move to a Prado Here's the details:

                            Model: Kakadu Petrol
                            Year: 2009
                            Colour: White Pearl
Accessories: Toyota tow bar, 3D vinyl mats, 'Wet seat' covers, booter cargo liner
Wishlist: Dual Batteries/battery box, roof racks, ARB Sahara bar, intensity LED Driving lights, AT tyre upgrade

I've been driving the car for three weeks now and am really happy with it. It gets better fuel economy than my hilux so can't complain. First beach trip is next weekend! I'll have a go at putting a picture below but not sure if it'll work.

                            • Hi All,

I am new to the forum. I recently purchased myself a new Prado, which I take delivery of next week (very excited). It was time to part with my trusty Landcruiser 80 series as she was getting tired. I have recently been viewing posts on this forum and kept coming back more and more. So I figured I would join up.
We (myself and my wife) are heading up to Queensland for a road trip over the Christmas holiday period from Victoria and will be looking for pet friendly places to stay along the way. I'm also hoping to put a few accessories on the truck before we go. I have already organised an ARB Deluxe bull bar through the dealership I bought the truck from, had a towbar fitted, rubber floor mats all round, cargo mat and canvas seat covers front and 2nd row fitted. Now i'm depleted of funds !!

                              Model: GXL T/D
                              Year: 2015
                              Colour: Glacier White
Accessories: Arb deluxe bar, All Genuine Toyota items - rubber mats f/r, rubber cargo mat, canvas seat covers f/r, bonnet protector, headlight covers, towbar
                              Wish list:
                              -Dual battery system
                              -Snorkel
                              -Driving/Spot Lights
-BFG all terrain tyres (because I have had a really good run out of them on previous truck)
                              - 2 inch lift
                              - roof rack
                              - uhf radio
                              - Secondary fuel filter ( I hear conflicting things about this)
I really could keep going here.........

I am open to views and opinions about all of the above mentioned, including good places to stay.

Look forward to hearing different feedback

                              Thanks !!!
