    Injector time- What else should be done?

    G'day all,
    Got the news yesterday that it's getting close to new injector time for my car.
    Looking for anything else that can be done/looked at while they are in that section of the engine? Already thinking of getting them to pull my intake off so I can remove the carbon build up. Just going to get them to do the spanner work and I'll do the messy cleaning myself.

    Any input is appreciated!

    New injectors new pipes. New genuine DENSO, fresh stock is best.
    Compression test.
    Valve clearance check.
    Piston check.
    Clean egr & fit plate 7mm hole. Manifold is not usually worth it.

      Excellent, thanks. Already fitted a 7mm plate to the EGR. Suggesting just clean up to the elbow?
      I've been suggested MTQ injectors by the mechanic (but obviously I'm free to choose whatever I want).
      Car is at 175,000km so I think I got decent life out of them (considering they still aren't 'broken' just on their way out). If I get another 180,000km out of the new injectors than the cost is worth it.

        Yes, that is all that's normally required & worth it. But if you have a good tech & like to be anal & happy to spend, go for it. It won't increase performance, it won't make your Injectors last longer.
        The injectors in there are well worn & not working correctly. Command piston wear.
        Only use new DENSO & fresh stock.
