This site has been a great source of information, inspiration and expenditure!! I didn’t realise how many things I just absolutely had to have.

That said, I thought I would share what I’ve done and plan to do to my 2013 150 Altitude D4D. I bought it brand new in 2013 as an upgrade to an 8-year-old Subaru outcrack, which was a great vehicle until I replaced the clutch and the engine in the same year.

I hadn’t done much 4wding and was keen to have a capable vehicle to take me on the beach and do a bit of gravel road driving – little did I know how addictive this would become.

    Modifications so far
    • Toyota towbar
    • Rhino Sports racks
    • Toyota genuine nudge bar with custom tabs welded on for driving lights and UHF 8 – Recently replaced with ARB Deluxe winch bar. Nudge bar is currently for Sale.
    • ARB Deluxe winch bar colour coded with a set of lightforce Strike 170’s and UHF Antenna
    • GME TX3350 UHF
    • Dual battery setup with CTEK 250s dual, exide 82 ah battery, ARB battery tray with 6B&S cable run all the way to the towbar
    • Trek Table on rear door, with swivel led light above it
    • Tin’s water tank with 12v pump
    • Tin’s bash plates
    • Wiring to the rear with extra sockets, led lights and voltmeter
    • Rear camera on demand switch, Front camera on Hema Navigator display
    • OME rear shocks with polyrite airbags (for towing camper)
    • Cooper AT3 265/65 R17 tyres
    • False floor in boot with fridge tie-downs and storage shelves
    • Rhino Sunseeker awning
    • Thule roof boot - I know they're uncool but so very practical, that thing is literally a tardis.

    Future modifications
    • Domin8rX winch install (currently in the post)
    • OME 2” lift
    • Replace rear muffler with redback
    • Recovery points
    • Replace roof racks and rails with pioneer platform on backbone

I will dig out some photos over the next few days.

Rusty, Yeah, it does tend to add up. Could you let me know what or where you got the "Trek Table" for the rear door. After the fold down table of the old 80 Series (Tail gate) really need some thing for the Prado. Thanks Phil

Hi Phil, I got the table from http://www.trektable.com.au. It's made out of some kind of plastic sort of like a chopping board and doesn't get messy like carpeted ones can. Here's a snap of the post celebration!

Here's a couple of shots of the false floor I made. Although I'd love to rip out the 3rd row seats and have the fridge on a slide on one side with a drawer on the other I just can't bring myself to do it.

This works pretty well and hold a tool bag, a compressor and recovery gear. It's also a 5 minute job to get out if I need to.

More importantly, a 30 pack of cans fits down the middle with the CFX50 strapped in.

It's fine rustymullet. A great post. Keep the pictures and reports coming. I'm thinking about upgrading the 120 so it is always good to see a post with most mods in the one area. Cheers Brian

Hey Rusty you are getting yourself set up quite nicely there.

Don't let a few comments put you off.

I also have a Trek Table and it sure is a great bit of kit.

Only problem I can see... what the hell are you drinking!?!

Otherwise - good job. Seats come out easily if you are interested.

Yeah that was my bro-in-laws. The glass is my home brew, my other hobby!

Did you take yours out? If so did you get it re-certified as a 5 seater, I've heard all sorts of regulations.

My build is in my signature... details there. Yes I removed the rear seats but as they go back in regularly and the seat belts are left in no need for recertification up here in Q. Seats are currently out as we are camping at the moment (lovely morning in the water with a pod of dolphins that chose to come into waist deep water where I was standing to say hello, my day could not have started any better than this!).

My domin8rX turned up today so it was straight to the shed to spin the gearbox around 90 deg. to reposition the clutch release lever to easily access it on the ARB winch bar. Hopefully now it's in a better position. I was surprised how straight forward this went, almost as easy as the youtube clips make out! I hope to get to the install this weekend so I'll post an update.
