  • OBD2 codes, PIDs and equations

Ok so after some serious digging on this topic, i have discovered the following:
    1. There are standard obd2 instructions and pids that all manufacturers must implement.
    2. All manufacturers have non standard pids thst they use for other sensors not related to emissions.
    3. These non standard pids are guarded like gold

Basically anything that techstream and snap on scan pro can read, so can we, if we have the right pids and equations.
Anyone got a mate at toyota who can get their hands on these codes?

I finally sorted the temp for the a750f transmission on the 1kd engine.
    For the transmission pan temp:
    Pid: 21d9
    Min: 0
    Max:100
    Symbol: °C
    Equation: (((((E*256)+F) * (7/100) – 400)/10)-32)÷1.8

    For the transmission converter temp:
    Pid: 21d9
    Min: 0
    Max:100
    Symbol: °C
    Equation: (((((G*256)+H) * (7/100) – 400)/10)-32)÷1.8

I am busy working on the injector volumes and balance values ... the holy grail

Just bringing this back up to see if anyone can confirm this pid works - trying to get a 2014 gxl auto temp, just a trial before fitting a real gauge

They work on Torque so they should work on any decent OBD reader.

I also posted below in https://www.pradopoint.com.au/forum/...mp-pid-android

This works with Torque Pro on my 2012 Prado 150:

Long Name: Transmission Fluid Temperature Pan
                  Short Name: TFT Pan
                  PID: 2182
                  OBD Header: [leave blank]
                  Formula: ((((A*256)+B)*0.35-3600)/90)

Long Name: Transmission Fluid Temperature Torque Converter
                  Short Name: TFT Conv
                  PID: 2182
                  OBD Header: [leave blank]
                  Formula: ((((C*256)+D)*0.35-3600)/90)

I have so far not found a good way of verifying that the values are actually from the correct sensors.
It seems the TFT temperature lags the engine coolant temperature by a few degrees (the transmission does not have its own radiator).
In park or neutral, the TC temp is only about 1°C above the pan temp.
In drive, with the car stationary and idling, the TC temp goes up quickly and eventually is about 10°C above the pan temp.

I'd like to get a bit more info from the transmission, e.g. which gear it is in (can't always tell when its in 'drive').
Does anyone have more info on Toyota PIDs?

Brining this thread back to life.
Did you get any chance on finding the injectors pis?
                    Or other interesting ones?

                    Thanks
