    Indicators stopped working, hazards work fine

    Hi,

    Yesterday i replaced the trailer plug on my 2003 120 series prado and everything went fine, afterwards i was driving around and my blinkers stopped working, the bulbs and dash lights are not flashing. When i use the hazards everything works fine. I took the rear panel out of the back to check the rear relays with a circuit tester and they click away fine with the hazards but get no signal with indicators. Then i checked every fuse under the bonnet thinking i may have blown something while rewiring the tow plug but they are all fine. Anyone had this problem or have any ideas of how to fix it?

    Check your fuses.

      There are fuses near your right knee as well as under the bonnet, indicator fuse is in there if memory serves me correctly.

        Thanks for the responses guys,
        I checked fuses and two were out, 10a for "tail" and a 10a for "rr wish" replaced both and there still not working.
        any other thoughts?

          I don't have a 120 but make sure you check the fuses inside the car and those near the battery. Otherwise the only time I have a problem like this it was the trailer wiring. I cannot remember but if there is a separate flasher unit for hazards and indicators see if these are the same and if so swap them over. Normally flasher units are under the dash.

            Check your trailer plug wiring since it only happened since you replaced it i would begin there!

              I was overseas all week and just got another chance to have another look at it. All fuses fine, the flasher works fine when hazards are on, cant find a seperate flasher for indicators. I pulled the stick mechanism apart and theres a metal plate that completes a circuit to turn the indicators on and its making contact fine but im not getting a current coming off it when it is engaged. Im out of ideas so im gonna get an electrician to have a look at it tomorrow.

                  probably a bit late

                  I had the same thing happen to me.
                  No indicators , lucky I was in town and went straight to the auto sparky he walked over and pressed the hazard light button a couple of times problem solved.

                    I have similar problem. Unplugged the trailer and since doing so no indivators. Hazards work ok and all fuses are good.
                    Any clues please.

                      I have just encountered the exact same problem. I wonder if anyone has found a solution???? Buggered if I can find a fuse issue.

                          Do you keep popping the fuses? Like rooboy said sounds like you might have a short somewhere.

                            I had the same issue just after towing our caravan for the first time. No indicators, or aircon and the engine light came on after we unplugged the van. The number 37 fuse had blown (under dash, centre column, 4th one down) 10amp and is labelled to control the aircon - replaced this fuse and all systems were restored! Happy days! The cause of the blown fuse turned out to be a badly wired plug on the car, got this repaired and hope the issue has been recitified.....will post again if not!

                              Thanks Ronny, had the problem today, no indicators, hazards working all fuses fine.
                              Read your post, hit the hazards a few times, and next thing, indicators working
