  1. Rear Shock Absorber Replacement

    Well Lads

In an earlier post I took on changing the discs and pads all round the prado during this process I had problems with caliper pistons, I got away with the rear calipers but unfortunately discovered oily rear shocks, blast. Seizing the opportunity to add a little something I ordered in Koni Heavy Track Shock Absorbers (82-2523) Opted not to go with the RAID shocks as I am not running a lift on the chassis. The changeover process is simple 2 bolts 2 nuts, the top nut can be ...

  2. Running Gear Oil Change

    Hey whats the craic?

Over the last few days I have been changing out the gear oils in the T-case, G-box and differentials I went with fully synthetic for the T-case and G-box, semi-synth for the rear diff with added friction modifier for the LSD and ordinary mineral API GL-5 for the front diff. I am also keen on external LED work lights on the prado.

I have read the information ...

  4. D4-D engine lettering

Being a very detail driven jackass I was being annoyed by the flakeing paint on the D-4D letters on the engine cover, not a big deal really but out came the paint anyway and now I can sleep a lot better at night knowing its done!

  5. Front Stoneguard Renovation

Just finished the restoration work on the front stoneguard. Was fairly battered and bruised with good amounts of surface rust. I stripped back the paint and rust to bare metal where necessary and treated corrosion with hammerite Kurust(c) couple of coats of primer, stone chip and 4 coats of toyota 3e5 red on the main body of the guard and satin black for the mesh inserts, the finish is not 100% in places due to the cold we have here, but due to its location under the car it is forgivable and also ...
