NO but im planning on buying one for my wife's 150- i have one on my 2010 LC 200 v8TTD, The MX1.3v reads trans temps cause i ended up cracking the code im interested in buying one as i want to know what trans temps are doing in the prado- we share taking different cars to keep the kms down- when i take the boat we go in the 200 but when we don't we go in the Prado but do a heap of beach work when to get some fishing done-

so my question is what preprograming do i order through ultragauge

toyota tacuma/tundra like i did with the 200 or one to suit the f/j cruisers

check out the thread on the ultragauge on my 200 http://www.lcool.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36505

Iv emailed ultra-guage but haven't herd anything back

I got a response from Ultragauge on their forum. They said the MX would support the prado but they haven't done the pre-programming. Would have to crack the code myself. Have you had any luck?

Would the Ultragauge work with my Prado KDJ120 D4D 5 speed Auto as the Scangauge II does

Sorry I've been super slack. I actually bought one of the new ultragauge blue units and am pleased to say that I have ATF temperatures (that's right... there's 2 sensors to choose from) working flawlessly. The 150 series prado has a temp sensor in the AT sump as well is in the torque converter. Had my first opportunity to tow our ~2T caravan for some distance last weekend and watch the temps. TC peaked at about 108 during a long accelleration up hill but cooled back down to sit in the low 90's at 100 kph on some light terrain. Interestingly I've found the temps actually get way worse just sitting in traffic. Anyway thumbs up for the ultragauge blue.

A word of warning... if you're going to buy one, don't ship via USPS! Ultragauge warn against it and 3 weeks after the units (3 of them) I bought disappeared and when I was losing hope of ever seeing them, they appeared. Turns out, USPS shipments to international destinations have no tracking and very often go missing. Ultragauge will not support you in a claim as they very clearly spell out on their shipping FAQ page. I was lucky. Others may not be. Using Fedex shipping is a bit more expensive but worth it in hindsight.

Once I got the ultragauge, their staff were SUPER RESPONSIVE in helping me to figure out the parameters to put in to use a scangauge ATF code on the blue. Since then they have released an update that allows scangauge codes to be input directly. Possibly the greatest part is you don't have another screen to mount in the vehicle leaving the dash clean. The customisable interface is great too. You can really go nuts with the amount of gauges you can set up.

              Check them out... http://ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge-blue.htm

No affilliation with Ultragauge, just a very happy user.

              Cheers,

I've got hold of a new Ultragauge. If anyone is interested, here is a screenshot of my custom gauge page. It includes the two trans temps. There's no need program with the scanguage codes as some Prado owners have already uploaded the code to the Ultragauge cloud servers. Simply enter your vehicle details correctly and you can download the new temp gauges. Looks like there's gauges for both 120 and 150 Prados.

First impressions are very good. The GUI is not the prettiest but is very configurable.

Good to know. I found the instructions on entering scan guage x gauge codes on their website bit have since lost the link. But I know it seemed quite easy. Even better if they can be downloaded.

                      Marco,

I assume this is for the wireless/bluetooth model rather then the wired one?

Would be good if it was for the wired one as they don't appear to support the windows phone yet, so I can;t use the bluetooth version.

Yep the bluetooth version. I saw a post on their support forum saying they had no real intention of supporting Windows phone. Bit of a shame.

How about getting one of those cheap and nasty Android tablets? Stick it on the dash when you need it to use it.

Remember - Ultraguage do a wired version too that is much cheaper that an equivalent Scanguage and it seems to have a much larger LCD display. Now that the UG can do the Scanguage codes (for trans temps) makes it even more attractive.

What would be great, would be to sniff all the other data that can potentially appear on the CANbus stream other than the standard OBD parameters. So we have trans temps now which are not standard OBD parameters but manufacturer specific so if Techstream can poll the ECM to retrieve the injector timings, injector feedback etc etc then any other system should be able to, including these programmable OBD units like Ultraguage and Scanguage.

I think I'll invest in a OBD pass through cable and connect up the Techstream USB adapter to my 150 and see what it does when talking to the ECM. My scope (DSO) does CANbus decoding from memory so it might be time to learn about this protocol.

Help please. I received my Ultraguage blue today. I have connected the device to the vehicle. Update was successful. However when I input the VIN, I get an error - not found on WWW server.

What do I need to input on the vehicle page - my vehicle is a 2014 Toyota Prado GXL D4D.

I found the Aussie VINs don't work but they're not needed anyway for the system to work. The system should just work once connected. When you add new gauges, the one's with an asterix next to them wont work. All the others should. If you need to add trans temps (if your Prado is Auto), go to the main menu and select custom gauges then go here http://scangauge.com.au/x-gauge-commands/ and add the top two codes from the Toyota list.

Edit: I should post the Prado 150 trans codes here for other users before they go missing off the interwebs.
