Gday all, Have just discovered this great site and am overwhelmed by all the info now at my fingertips:-D
I have owned a variety of fourbies, but the prado '97 RV6 has been the best, are they not great cars!
Had mine now for 9 years and it has taken me and the family ( wife and 4 kids) everywhere.
Just clocked 360k and with a recon motor fitted 40k ago Im hoping to get to the magical 500k. I haven't done any hardcore mods, most of the offroad work is mud or on the beach.
I have just had the original front suspension replaced last week with a 2inch lift heavy duty, rear was done about 80k ago in Darwin with same.
Couldn't afford to do it all at the same time. I am looking at getting 265/75/16 in tyres next week. Just had the gas tank tested and needed a new one ( to much rust from all the beach work). Now the new tank has been fitted, the rear has sagged a little.
Question 1 is, I know I can get a front suspension spacer, can I get one for the rear? I have been looking on this great site but couldn't find a reference to it. Any help?
Question 2, How long can I expect to get out of the original cv shafts now they are on greater angle? I don't do any hard core offroad, mostly sand.
Question 3, How do I upload a picture to my personal profile?
Thanks in advance, what a great website:-D

Gday mate welcome, They are a great vehicle, I've had 2x now.
Question 1 yes there are rear spacers available as I had them on my previous 96 model. I had 50mm spacers but be careful how big you go as mine tended to wander a little and I reckon it was the spacers that caused it. I think you can get 30mm and 15mm too ""I think"". Was a few years back but I bought mine from Guest 4wd in Melbourne 039473899. They were good quality. Maybe try giving them a call.

Question 2 Well depends the higher you go the less time you'll get unless you do a diff drop I think they call it. I had very heavy duty 2 inch lifted in the front of mine and 50mm spacers (Fitted by 4wd shop) and because of the severe angle I was going through CV's between I think it was every between 5k-12k, was bloody annoying and costly when you had to pay someone to do it.

Question 3 I think there is an upload pics button isn't there?. Mmmm I will have to go into it to have a look myself.

    Cheers Steve
