That plug doesn't look standard, looks like an add on so it could be for anything. Can you trace the wires?

Looking a bit closer I realize it has blue, black, red and white wires. Same colours as a brake controller, might have had one previously and been removed!

I also agree with all those above that it does look like the connection for a trailer brake. I take it that it didn't come with the vehicle?Tasmania 2015 GTG Committee Member 2005 Prado Pilbara, Sovereign Bar, Driver & passenger weathershields, UHF TX3220, Spare wheel spaces, Lifestyle rack, Genuine front & midrow seatcovers, Genuine front & midrow rubber floor mats, ARB 47 litre fridge/freezer, Hilux washer jets, BF Goodridge A/T, Radiator protection plate, Dual battery tray and isolator, ARB 2.5m awning, Rhino heavy duty areo bars, MSA rear wheel bin, MAXTRAX

I will have to have a look at the plug in my Prado when I get home as it had a brake controller when I bought the vehicle but don't need it so just unplugged it.Tasmania 2015 GTG Committee Member 2005 Prado Pilbara, Sovereign Bar, Driver & passenger weathershields, UHF TX3220, Spare wheel spaces, Lifestyle rack, Genuine front & midrow seatcovers, Genuine front & midrow rubber floor mats, ARB 47 litre fridge/freezer, Hilux washer jets, BF Goodridge A/T, Radiator protection plate, Dual battery tray and isolator, ARB 2.5m awning, Rhino heavy duty areo bars, MSA rear wheel bin, MAXTRAX

That plug is a generic one from jaycar or somewhere similar. My redarc brake controller didn't come with a plug, but I added one exactly like that.
