Well good news for those located in Sydney, BP is finally selling Ultimate Diesel here. Filled up a couple of days ago and the lack of foaming was clearly evident.

Some more Bitchen on how honest our fuel companys are!!... And the "industry" in general!!
Times are tough so the more money that can be squeezed from the small guy the better! ... This also applies to "ALL" industries!
If you keep paying then they will keep rising the prices!!...
petrol execs should face jail over alleged price fixing
Petrol price fixing scandal
price-fixing raid on BP and Shell
Shell and BP raided in probe into petrol price fixing
petrol price-fixing claims as Tory MP warns probe can not be left to Europe
ACCC to probe petrol price fixing
I figure if you want to make a boring thread interesting then lets dig-up facts that hit our pockets!

I am certain I have had BP Ultimate available at the local BP for years ???? (North side of Sydney)
Don't know about foaming, never noticed a difference, but I have noticed around 50klm more out of a full tank of BP over the Caltex... not a lot over 165ltrs..... but worth the effortRob

Also if bp trucks come into Shell for Diesel which they do they don't load Bio.
Now out of the NSW refineries I wouldn't have a clue but NSW also has more Ethanol fuel.Last edited by blkd4d; 31-05-2013, 07:09 PM.

You did put a link for caltex, you state they all use b5, well no, you must read further!
"These products, available only to commercial customers"
that is why I use caltex vortex premium fuel, you might not believe it, but.........
Keep up the good work.

Hi guys
As we know fuel consumption is a hard one to justify?
EG: Head wind/Tail wind? If its raining it puts resistance on the tyres and windshield wipers load the alternator which in turn loads the engine (Hence the 80amp alternator as appose to 100 or 120 amp it actully helps to cut down on fuel emissions) Headlights on also loads the alternator! (Yes i know the Europeans get two batteries for the extreme cold start)....
Tyre sizes screws around with fuel consumption figers!! Lol EG: If you go from 265/65/17 to 265/70/17 you actually shave 100km per 1,000km from your fuel figures based on total wheel circumference aloan!
As tyres heat-up they expand and so does the circumference!... As tyres wear down the circumference reduces and the trip meter shows better fuel consumption! Lol
If you use a "CHIP" (Anyone's chip) it will show better fuel consumption because the ECU is being denied of true signals being used at the injector because the pulse width and duration are modified! (ECU thinks it is doing one thing and the chip is doing another! Lol).
The list goes on and on and that's not including if the servo pumps are not giving true liters!. EG: i went into a servo at Umina about a year ago with a 5Ltr can and got 5.3ltrs into it??? I complained to the attendant and she said others had complained and a independent was in the next day checking the pumps... Who trusts the servo's?? Has anyone noticed a law suit being cunderd towards them of late!.. A bit rich coming from the government considering they also made a motsa!
@ #############
You are correct that "These products, available only to commercial customers" is stated in that document ( ""Biodiesel b5" ) but only approx last year they stoped advertising on there fuel pumps at the local servo's that there fuel "May" contain 5% bio!
I believe this was because of this law that the government put through to encourage bio!... (SETTING NATIONAL FUEL QUALITY STANDARDS ) Probably for two reasons!.. One: because its cheaper and Two: because you use less fossil fuel!.. Which gets us back to being cheaper!.. And it increases the cetain level!
Quote from the "Setting National Fuel Quality Standards" link above as follows!
Quote: "The Australian Government is not proposing to require labelling of B5 diesel/biodiesel blends" Un-Quote!
Now lets not forget there Bull-crap excuse to justify the bio introduction from all oil refineries not just Caltex! EG: Caltex Quote: "At Caltex, we are committed to addressing the serious issue of climate change".... Now climate change is a whole new topic but it works for the government Co's it lets them put Tax on top of Tax so lets leave that one alone!.. Lol
Cheers
PS. Why did i take the bait and reply to "Riv39" when i knew it would trigger a responce? ... Lol

Step aside Co's Asia is coming!!
21 Petroleum Refining Companies in New South Wales, Australia
Now watch them drop one by one!!
Security in doubt as Australia’s aging oil refineries shut down
Kurnell refinery would be closing
Shell brings forward refinery closure @ Clyde
I'm Guessing a road train would be a good investment because someone is going to have to transport all that fuel from the Super Tankers.

I did not start this thread to bait you. I was just letting Sydney Prado owners know that I noticed that BP Ultimate Diesel was now for sale here where before it was not. IMO it definitely has less foaming then their standard diesel.
Personally I think it is a inevitable but sad day coming where NSW can't refine its own fuel. Lets hope that there is no world instability on the horizon....from what I understand they are converting the refineries here to just holding yards for imported fuel from Asia.Last edited by Riv39; 25-06-2013, 12:44 PM.2010 150 Glacier White GXL D4D Auto
