  • Hiclone

Well I had an old hiclone on my old hilux 2l (2.5l) and it made a huge difference in low end torque. John from hiclone qld has just done a great deal on two of them for me with an exchange of the old unit.

Just fitting one on the engine side of the alloy pipe and then one just outside the air filter. At this stage the prado seems to breath better and better pick up. I'm more I interested in the fuel savings. They reckon around 25%. Even if I get 20% ill be happy.

I'll post the results after two tanks. I know a few ppl here reckon don't wasted money, only time will tell I suppose.

I had Hiclones in a Pajero I owned years ago. Made no difference whatsoever. Total waste of time and money in my opinion.

I ran them in my Toyota 4.2TD Ute for a month and they made no difference at all. Not even 0.1L/100km. I kept a logbook for the whole time I had that car and the hiclone didn't save any fuel.

I returned to the shop and. The guys said "keep them for another month and see if you get any improvement". Again, not even 0.1L/100km improvement. So I had them removed and put on a straight through muffler.

I'm well aware of the theory (reducing boundary layer resistance by spinning the air etc), but in a modern car the air intake would be smooth moulded plastic, negating the need for such a device.

25%? ha! You'll be lucky to see your money back.

What a bunch of pessimists. If the packaging says it works then I believe it.

                              Hi guys

After that "supermoon" last night I'm feeling quite pumped! Lol

Firstly! I want some of that "Snake oil" from D4D!.. I'm giving first bids on $20 buck's! My skin feels flaky!

Secondly! Yo "Matt - mr4x4".. I was out wine testing in the hunter in 2008 and lost my "I LOVE My "HICLONE" Co's It SUX" T-shirt! .. Did you find it? If so can i have it back co's its mi fave shirt!... Hasn't greyhound gone bust! And i have a pedigree horse that won the "Melbourne Cup" twice in a row so I'll let you have it for free if you back-off on the bid for "that large bridge in the Sydney area" and you can then find use for ya pair of jousting sticks and I'll give you a whopping 5 grand and you get to keep your "7 second cortina!"

Thirdly! How much do you want for that large bridge in the Sydney area "D4Dforme" Ive been trying to get me one of them for ever! .. When will you be back from Nigeria co's I'm keen as mustard dude to get it!.. What-ever "Heath74" offers you i will double it and he is stuck off shore on an oil rig anyway and he can't be trusted like anyone who has anything to do with oil or "Oil-riggers!"

Fourthly! Yo Ozpat! I'll give you my "Energy Polariser" if you can successfully stop "Matt - mr4x4" from bidding on the large bridge in the Sydney area for me!

Fifthly! Hey cbm8880!.. You clearly didn't use the "Hiclone" long enough to give it a chance to prove its worth on your "Toyota 4.2TD Ute" and maybe if you was to teem up with "Ozpat" to stop "Matt - mr4x4" from bidding on the large bridge in the Sydney area for me maybe you can try and persuade "Ozpat" to let you try the "Energy Polariser" with your straight through muffler.

Yo "MidLifeCrisis!" ... I'm with you this one!... I reckon your right and that everyone is a bunch of pessimists!... Seriously!! .. Lol

And "stevejau!".. Given that you are "pessimistic optimist" Would i be right in saying that you used to be indecisive but you are not too sure now?

                              Annnnyway!!!

Isn't this Crap! (Hiclone) "EVER going to die!!... Its only been going on for about "20" yrs now and i think "Every forum on the planet has talked about it!

It may of worked a smidgens in its day when carbies was atomising fuel in the inlet manifold but hasn't anyone told anyone that all cars these days are fuel injected so fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber and most cars these days have swirl-flaps to cause combustion cylinder turbulence? ... Lol

Do you reckon fuel will fill the fuel tank quicker if one was fitted to the fuel neck?... Lol

Here is a few "OLD" links below to read!
