  • Is the "90l fuel light" supposed to dim?

High guys, one thing that I have noticed is that the 90lt fuel light in my car does not dim when the headlights are turned ON. The Cruise light etc does.

Is this the same for everybody? If it is it seems a bit odd as it is quite bright, particularly for driving at night away from built up areas.

I have just been out and checked mine now!..With lights switched on or off and even with the light cluster rheostat turned right down that green light does not dim at all!

sorry it has taken me this long to get back on line. Thanks for the info, at least it is not just mine. I would like to be able to dim it if I could.

If not tape see if you can buy a lower wattage bulb/globe!

Its mean't to be bright as it is a "Warning" light!

I "Think" it is a 6w (Guessing) so see if you can buy a 4w or 3w.

          Cheers

I would say an LED rather than a globe, too bright for my liking

I just can't work out why they are not dimmed like everything else. The cruise light dims. I see both the fuel light and cruise light as advisory lights, not warning lights. Anyway not much we can do obviously, it is what it is.

It's probably some sort of Japanese logic. Something like 'advisory' lights, such as cruise might dim, whereas something telling you 'status of a system', such as fuel or oil or engine etc, don't dim?

                  just puttin' it out there....
