  • Weight of Auxiliary Battery

It looks as though a ED5 or N70T battery weighs about 22 to 24 kg. When one of these is mounted in the front of the engine bay for an auxiliary battery, does this additional weigh cause noticeable deflection of the springs, viz. on the driver's side? In other words is a front spring upgrade on the cards?

    Thanks Glenn

22kg is almost nothing compared to 5 passengers and all their gear. Now, if you add a winch, bull bar, spotties, aux battery, compressor, etc to the front end then an upgrade to suspension would be highly recommended.

I agree... If youre only talking a battery tray and a battery, there is no need to upgrade the springs.
Wait until all your mods are done before you do your suspension that way you have a true outlook on spring requirements.
