  • Fuel Range - some kind of gauge available?

    Hi

I've done a quick search on the forum but can't find what I'm looking for...

We have a 2009 GXL diesel that we bought about 6 months ago (upgraded from a petrol 90) and we love it. Have just done our first big trip of almost 3000kms and it didn't miss a beat. The only thing missing was a way to meaure the range left on the diesel as the dash has no indiction of this - we had to revert to working it out via the the fuel gauge. Does anyone know if there's an aftermarket dash upgrade avaialable? I'm guessing from the owner's manual that the VX and Grande models have this built in.

    Thanks.

Search for scangauge. It is a separate gauge that can do this and many many other things.

      Have a look here

But Scangauge is the way to go as yours is the later model 120.
I believe there is an alternative to the Scangauge.

I have an Ultragauge. I love it, different screens and data but the main one is fuel left and DTE as the fuel gauge is somewhat misleading! I have heard good things about the scangauage too

Thanks Morkw...the Ultragauge looks good. Where did you mount it? I'm not a big fan of cluttering up what is a nice clean dash look in the 120 and already have a sat nav on the windshield.

I mounted it bottom right of the instrument cluster. It covers the temperature gauge, but i have temp on the screen which is more accurate. I tried the windscreen mount but it was not overly flexible and i couldn't make it work to my satisfaction. Also putting it there makes it close to the OBD computer port (under the drivers side dash) and the lead is out of the way.

I have been lazy to date just using double sided tape and a bit of plastic as a spacer. So far it has survived a couple 4wd trips!

Thanks Morkw...I've ordered one and I'll copy your option with the location. I take it that it's a straight plug into the exposed white plug down by the right side driver's knee??

              Cheers for all the help.
