  • Radio/head unit fuse location ?

    Hey guys,

    can any one give me a heads up on where cd player head unit fuse is located, is it under drivers side or under bonnet ?

    i have started installing a new head unit and have lost power

    From memory it’s the drivers side panel 7.5 A fuse. I would take a look for you but the missus is out with the Prado...fear nail biting more fear...anticipation.

        Ok driver side 7.5 amp and under bonnet 30 amp radio fuse look ok. Any other suggestions? I got nothing to headunit/outside temp/ clock.

          Did you plug the big connector in with the bolt through the center of the connector?

            Mate I just upgraded my head unit yesterday and found this link very useful to gain access to the back of the dash http://www.hgfs.net/4x4mods/0710head...10headunit.htm

            There are a few plugs that can be checked that come off the wireing harness to ensure they are not loose. The main thing is that you check that the main wiring harness (pic 5in thread link, bolted in at bottom left of head unit) has not come loose as this is the main power feed to all the accessories you have spoken about. Ensure your getting power at this location as the problem sounds like its in your harness or where the harness connects. The head unit, clock/ temp sensor run off different wires but all come back to that harness.

              lol ok dunno what happened , sorted out cables for camera /ipod etc and reinstalled unit and it worked
