  • Audio issues with Prado 120 Grande ..

Let me just introduce myself .. I'm a seventeen year-old Australian from Sydney .. I own a prado 120 Grande given to me from my father followed by heaps of thanks .. I've treated this beast with care .. Given it a full service .. Resprayed it .. And I'm planning to go even further .. I am a first time poster and user of this site and forum however I plan to behold this site and keep everyone updated with my future ideas ..

So here we go .. My problem is that I either cannot or do not know how to play my burnt CDs on my prado .. Everytime I play a burnt CD it gives me an error .. Is there a certain type of CD I need? (CD-R, DVD-RW) or is it the format of the audio that's the problem? (Mp3, AAC,) etc ..

Any help is much appreciated .. Thanks

    Nadim ..

    Nadim,
Welcome to PradoPoint! What year build is your Prado as there are a couple of Variants of player throughout the 120 builds?
Also when you get a moment, go to settings and update your location in Edit Profile. It helps other members provide location specific advice...

Hi Nadim, If your CD player has Mp3 logo on it then it will play CD-R's. Otherwise you will have to use original CD's. I have the same prob with my 2005 Grande, so I'm using an FM transmitter to listen to my music.

Bugger .. When you say original CDs is there any way around that? Surely we can bypass that?

If it is the original factory satnav unit, then it won't play MP3s. Neither will it have an aux in.
If you want to play burnt CDs containing CD audio (as opposed to MP3s) then you might want to try burning at the slowest speed and finalise the CD.

Correct . Burn them at a slower speed . Same goes for making a backup disc for the satnav
