  • Reverse park Sensors GXL

    Hi everyone,
New to site and I have a issue with reverse assist buzzer. Found module near LH tail lamp and all seems ok there but also found a twin core wire with small white connector just siiting near jack . I assume this goes to buzzer or pezo , where is Buzzer located ?
    can anyone help. PLEASE

What's the problem? No sound? There is a volume switch on the control box. The speaker is somewhere in there too. A search will find another thread where we were all trying to work out how to shut the damn thing up. Or at least muffle it.

Marbo you have managed to ruffle a few feathers. Multiple posts will do that. Just remember not everyone has a chance to get on here as ofter as they would like and you still haven't answered the questions I asked but I assume that there is no noise from the speaker.

A search would have revealed this thread:

          http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...168#post208168

Ignoring my contribution you will see a picture of the noise maker. I cannot tell you if mine is like that because I cannot fit my head between the fridge and the jack port cover (it must be full of something).

It is quite possible the previous owner of the Prado had a temper like yours and switched the sound off (an option on the control box) or even ripped the speaker out. All I can suggest is to have another look for the speaker now you know what it looks like and also trace out the two wires you have found. Jaycar and similar places will sell similar speakers or you can go for a proper reversing beeper or piezo alarm depending on your proclivities.

As you can tell from my posts on the subject I am totally over the factory sensors. They are pretty near useless. They alarm at nothing, don't alarm as you hit things, whinge in the wet, don't allow the use of a TREG hitch without screaming and so on.

And remember if you don't get an answer to a question, give it a couple of days and bump the thread. Don't post in 6 different places asking the same question. Good thing MLC is still in gaol.

And last jump onto the intro thread and let us know who when where and how you are.

          Michael

After I had my car back to Toyota 3 times complaining about them going off all the time and them telling me its because of my spare wheel or towbar or my driveway is not level enough etc etc, I was ripping the control box out! Mine was held in with velcro just next to the jack. Crack it open and that means breaking the sticker that says "warranty void if this sticker is broken" LOL there is a sensitivity switch in there. I was seriously about to rip mine out when I discovered this. I turned down the sensitivity and they worked perfectly from then on. I also had the 7 pin flat plug with the little magnet that cancels the reverse sensors once a trailer is attached. They were spot on.
