  • Fuel filter dual tanks

Toyota replace the filter between the main and sub tanks every 2nd service.
    Filter part# 23300-30410 at a cost of $96.
There is no aftermarket filter for this one, is replacing this every 20,000kms a bit exessive?
I can't find anywhere in the service schedule where the fuel filter under the bonnet is replaced onlt the water accumulator checked.
With my old landcruiser I used Terrain Tamer filters and they supply a primary fuel filter in the kit and it makes it cheap enough to do every service.
The tank transfer filter is in a cow of a spot to reach without a hoist so I am sure many don't get chaged DIY.

This filter is only to grab large particals from the sub tank (Hence small filter) with large flow.

I have never bought one those above but the info is there to pursue!

I only change this one every 40,000 minimum!... I have taken it up to 60k (Maybe more?) but i know i get clean fuel!

I "always" change the one under the bonnet (Big one) every 10k and is always spotless when i back-flush the filter to check it for water or particles so i know my tanks are clean.

Have not inquired with repco or bursons so also give them ago for pricing! (Part No: BP4W-13-480 Mazda Mx-5).

If you are prickly at the thought of a none genuine (I have no probs with none genuine) then go here and buy a genuine for $40 AUD+ delivery
Only pay via PayPal! I have bought from these guys and had no probs.

you should be able to get those between tank filters for ~$60 dollars, genuine from toyota so have a hunt around.

I do the between tank every 20, and the under bonnet every alternate 20, so there is always one being changed.

I don't think it's overkill at all, the cleaner the fuel, the better.

Toyota dealers change the between tank filter every 20 000km. Wesfil make an aftermarket filter if cost is an issue. It's around $20. You'll need to transplant the clamp from the toyota filter to the wesfil filter as it dosn't come with one.

Go with these guys, I don't know who they are or what they do but all I can say is they are great to deal with, have or can get the parts you need and saves the hassle of dealing with Toyota. The only downside is the parts (particularly some of the less common ones) take a while for them to source and ship, but you get them eventually. I have ordered from them a number of times now.

Hey guys bringing up a old topic here, but I was under the impression the 150 just had one large tank, if it doesn't is there a fuel filter that needs changing in between the 2 tanks.

There are 2 tanks but in terms of filling up and usage, you treat it as one tank. There is an in between tank filter in the diesel models.
