  • Assistance wiring up a P3 Electric Brake Controller.

Have lined up Autobarn to install my P3 Prodigy that I ordered today from autobarn and while they are at it they are running a wire and installing an anderson plug at the back as well.. I am still haven't decided whether to install it in the ashtray slot or to the left of teh steering wheel on the removable tab.

I have rad through both posts on the above install locations and wondering if there are any pros and cons that need to be taken into account. I like the idea of being able to remove it and put it in the glovebox when not in use.

It needs to be installed as horizontal as possible. I installed mine under the cigarette lighter with a little cutting of the back plastic behind it. You can see a picture of it in my rig build link below.

I thought the prodigy could be installed at any angle up to 45 degrees?

The P3 uses different technology to early controllers and can be mounted at 45°. Can't remember what the manual says but I've mounted it at about 55° and it works fine.

I have mine mounted under the cig lighter on the left of the dash. The cables come up through the switch blank underneath. So no hoel drilled except for to hold the bracket, but you cannot see them.
            I have a photo somewhere....

Another option I thought if was the square blank to the left of the steering wheel...
