  • Dual batteries at last

Hi everyone, not a big poster but avid reader. I finally got around to part with some of the hard earned and purchased a dual battery kit and battery tray, got them from batteries direct and i must say the battery tray was well made and went straight in without any problems at all. The isolater is the projecta 150 amp kit. I went with the projecta kit simply because i could get the kit and tray from the same place. A mate from work did the soldering bits for me and the rest is proudly done by me. Anyway a couple of pics for your perusal, my next project is a roof rack and awning, has anyone seen the roo systems awning in the flesh ?????

Mate, looks neat, time to get that engine bay dirty. Havent seen the roo system awning in the flesh but I have a Pioneer platform with a Sunseeker awning that do the trick and look the part. I wouldn't get too tied up with the awning selection, they all look good, price and convenience were a big factor for me, and in hindsight, given the use of the awning is only in brief spurts, ease of use and sun protection is the main thing I would advise potential buyers!

Looking forward to seeing how the Baintech fits up as it does look the good.

Nice work, you might want to get a cover for your circuit breaker otherwise you might get a fright if you brush against it.

Mate would love a pic of the red cover flipped open on the second battery so I can see the clamps.

Also maybe consider making up your own rear panel. See my build up so you do it for the things you want/need in the rear. Have a look at my rig build at post 278)

                Cheers and well done.

Good job mate. Just one suggestion cover all your wiring with convoluted tubing. Prevent wires rubbing through shorting out and this is most important if you don't have the main lines fused at both ends. A heavy wire not fused will potentially burn your rig down (not to sound too dramatic but safety first).

Good Advice Hazza. Having seen Hazza'a dual battery install, it would have to be one of the tidiest Dual batt installs I've seen.
