  • Which oil does Toyota use in the Toyota brand oil

Just wondering if anyone's been able to identify which brand and type of oil Toyota uses in its Toyota Brand oil for diesel engines?

There's a few threads about it already.

It's caltex as far as I know. So would be a delo 400.

What your toyota dealer uses though for servicing may be something completely different.

Im sure there are variations on what dealer uses what oil... im sure the bulk oil is bought from a local wholesaler and most wholesalers specialise in different oils...

Local dealer in Rockingham uses Castrol Magnatec, they don't even try and say they are using a genuine oil. Even when I initially asked for it they said just go and buy magnatec, apparently this is what they have used for used.

Valvoline 10w30 Semi-synthetic where i go ..Must be a dealer thing..They also have no probs when i ask about putting X amount of "X" Oil (I supply)in before they "top" it up.I also get a sample of what came out so can keep a log of its "properties".

If it's caltex 15w40 SL and CH-4 it's probably Delo Gold Multigrade. This stuff was $65 a drum 9 months ago.

On my dealer service invoice they list it as Castrol Mag Prof 10w-30. But the Toyota brand is a different viscosity as per previous post. The Toyota brand is packaged by the Caltex refinery in Botany Bay. The Castrol products TDS states it exceeds CF, but the Toyota product is the latest CH rated from what I can tell.
