Interesting, here's an extract relating to the injector changes (G2 to G3):
"The injectors used with the 1KD-FTV and 2KD-FTV engines have been changed from the G2 type to the G3 type. In comparison to the G2 type injector, the G3 type injector has the following characteristics:
• The nozzle shape, and shape of the high-pressure seal service have been changed, resulting in a more high-pressure resistant structure."
I wonder whether "shape of the high-pressure seal service" has anything to do with the oil seal performance?
Roo or one of the other diesel fitters please comment.
Does anyone know if these engine changes were just for the 150 Series diesel engine, or would they potentially have been applied in the very late/last of the 120 Series Prados in 2009?
Cheers

Roo, you have mentioned a few times that the injector design has changed is it 3 times? Is there any reasource that is available to verify this. Trying to colate as much info as I can to try and depict the injector issue as a design/engineering fault.
