  • ARB Fog Light installation wiring???

    Hi guys,

I have a 2008 GX Auto with the factory GXL option pack and have a ARB bull bar. I have recently purchased the fog lights to install into the bull bar and am wondering is the factory wiring there somewhere so i dont have to run completely new wiring???? any help would be appreciated

    Cheers
    MiK

HI mate, Id be interested to see how you go with this, since I'm in the same boat. There are certainly matching looms with two wires in each side of the vehicle at the front, that look to be in the position for fog lights. However I could not find the loom in the cabin, nor could i get a power reading at the loom with any combination of parkers, or headlights on. So i think its about finding the switch end of the loom in the cabin somwhere. I spent a bit of time searching for it with no luck, so will probably just run an after market loom. (also GX 120 2008 with the option pack)
    Regards, Heath.

With my 04 gx with toyota soveriegn bar, i got a pair of original fog lights, connected them to the plugs behind bar,got hold of a new indicator stalk with fog light controls from a GXL or better, swapped this out with original stalk removed, inserted a relay into the fog position in engine fuse box and all good. So i assume you could do the same with your arb bar lights, maybe will need to change plug connections for lights

I have an 05 GXL that I wired the ARB for lights up on. The switch is on the indicator stalk next to the headlight switch, you just turn it the same way you turn the light switch to turn them on.
The wiring was already there, should be tucked up near the headlights on each side if you have it. Once you have found those wires it's just a matter of plugging them in and flicking the switch.

The GX model does not have the switch on the indicator stalk as this model did not have fogs standard ,hence the need to get a replacement stalk with switch on it,sourced from a wrecker for $90.

I just had my OL bar fitted yesterday, mine is a Gx so no std foggies, the boys just wired it up to a switch an tapped it into the low beams of my headlights, that way they turn off with the cars lights. Probably the easiest way to go.

Yea they used a night stalker wiring harness which came with a switch. Just looked like a std spottie wiring harness. Which would make it pretty simple

I guess on the downside I have more wires going though my firewall now, but going to cover all the wires with that black flexi conduit when I get a chance to make it look more factory
