The A.C. switch in the cabin showed green, air was circulating, but no cooling available.
After a thorough inspection of the mechanical side of the system it was determined that the problem was electrical.
The compressor was tested by supplying 12 volts direct from the battery and the magnetic clutch activated okay and system refrigerant charge checked as okay and system worked proving the problem to be electrical, no power to clutch. All fuses were checked and still no result. Searched the owners manual for the location of any relays to no avail, they are not shown in the owners manual. Did a google search and found a post by P & G Motors Seven Hills about similiar symptoms describing a MG CLT plug in relay in the fuse box behind the battery in the engine bay, located same, did the swap with the FOG relay and AC worked, Fog Lights didnt, so faulty relay. The relay locations and title names are shown on the underside of the fuse box lid.
Went to Toyota to get the repacement part and they had none in stock but the price would be just short of $95 each, must be made of gold. Went to a well known motor parts supplier and picked up a Narva 20 amp Micro Relay part No 68062BL for approx $13, same 4 spade connections and dimensions. Problem solved, both systems now working.
