Over the last copy of years I have had every courtesy light door switch in my Prado replaced. They are about $35 each genuine.
The biggest problem with them failing is the auto relock function. ie Open door but because of dicky switch ecu does not know door has been opened, leave keys inside car and close door (which I tend to do when camping), car auto relocks. Locking keys inside car.

Sorry to dig up this older thread - is there a part number for these?
I kinda have the same issue - but I think it is the drivers' door.
Funny, forestry roads all weekend - and a bit of rain is causing this issue. Might need a seal too, come to think of it....'04 120 Petrol Flinders Red GXL

Oh, I'm 2nd owner - warranty is long gone at 177 400 KM's - that's why I was after the part(s) number to get pricing on.'04 120 Petrol Flinders Red GXL

Hi guys, I have a part number (84231-60070) which appears to be the same for front and rear doors on the 120 series. It is listed as an assembly so should include seal and wiring socket. It's an older listing so could have been changed particularly if the same switch is used for the 150 series. Hope this helps, I'm off to order a new one my self.

Funny thought I should reply to this - mine seem to get into a knot when it rains out. Not sure if the offspring is shutting doors properly, but one shouldn't need to slam doors....
But for $35 for four OEM switches, is a "cheap" fix to the issue.'04 120 Petrol Flinders Red GXL

I replaced my RH rear door switch with one of these when it failed recently http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221937980451 works perfectly.
As Murphy would have it my LH front door switch went intermittent not long after, so I bought another switch and went to replace it today. Problem is there isn't enough length on the wire/plug to remove and replace. Has anybody replaced their LH front switch before? My Prado
