  • Monroe adventure shocks any reason why not?

Time has come to replace the old stock shocks and probably springs on my 97 SWB KZJ90.
I am looking at a few options :

    1. Rancho RS5000
    2. Monroe Adventure
    3. Stock.

I am not going to lift it, its fine as it is.
anyone used the Rancho RS5000's or the Monroes long enough to give an opinion?
I heard a rumour that the OME are made by Monroe but their price doesn't allow them to be in the same category as the other shocks, just too expensive.

I've used Monroe Adventure shocks close to abt 15000kms now and so far so good. Been offroad a couple of times and they hold up well. Great damping on road as well. I went for them basically due to price and am using them in combo with raised King Springs.

I've also heard that OME shocks are made by Monroe, just to OME's specs.

I had Rancho 5000s' on a GQ patrol, did approximately 50,000Km (have since sold it) including 2 trips down the canning and a lot of other top end travel. Not one problem, loved them but unavailable for the 150. They are a softer shock so probably not good if you are into high speed touring, but great for corrugations with minimal fading.

I have the Rancho RS9000 on the rear of mine. They are adjustable as well and are great when cruising on the highway or when you are fully loaded and need them to be stiffer.

I have had them for the past 50,000 miles and they are holding up strong! Im very impressed!

Cheers for the replies guys, I appreciate it.
Still can't decide what to go for. I might just get some cheapy KYB ones from Milners @35stg ea.
They have to be better than the stock ones which have 160k miles done since I changed them at 108k miles.
TBH I could probably do with new springs as well but I just can't afford to do the lot.
I replaced the fronts with Desert fox shocks about 12k miles ago, they are still holding up well.
