I have Grande 2004 with a DVD and CD changer. I bought a new in-dash GPS on ebay and put it in.
After that many cables were left hanging unused, which is by design.
Within the first several weeks everything was just perfect. Then I started hearing a BEEEEEP from the dashboard for 10-60 seconds after the start. Note it is different to the reverse parking sound, but quite similar in tone to it (when you are about to hit an object).
Later it grew to 2-3 minutes.
6 months down the track, which is right now, I have to permanently drive with this whistle. Yesterday I drove some 40 KM and it would not stop.
When the beeep is on (and these days it is on ALL THE TIME for me), the dash highlights almost every possible option on it, including the handbrake, abs, etc. So it looks like it sort of cannot get through some kind of "reset" mode.
Before I disassemble I want to know the possible causes/triggers to the beeping from the dashboard.
Please help
Cheers,
VAL
