OME are more widely used. You won't go wrong with either. As to which is better? ... It depends who you ask. I'd base my decision on price and availability.Declan: 1997 GXL 4.5 Auto 80 series on LPG, ARB bullbar, 2" OME lift, 32" MTZ, GME UHF, rear ARB locker, Kaymar spare wheel carrier
PLANNED: 3 or 4" suspension lift, 2" body lift (maybe), winch, 35" MTZ + roadies, front locker, sliders, cylinder head rebuilt for LPG, Garret Turbocharger

I have EFS in my vehicle and swear by them, the back up and warranty from the manufacturer is the best in the business, have a look on the website, www.efs4wd.com.au . the technology that is going into there kits is much better than any other brand on the mass market.97 VX Grande, with front & rear air lockers, ARB Sahara winch bar with tigers 11 winch, 2" EFS lift, 265/75/16 Achilles Desert hawk XMT, and more.

Oh well EFS has been ordered hanging out to get the kit installed. As the standard rear shocks dont have stone guards do you think i should get them on the new shocks? Surely if stones were going to do alot of damage it would have happened on the old shocks too.1999 Prado Snowy 265/75/16 Mickey T's ATZ 4RIB, Uniden 80 channel CB, 2" EFS with PolyAirs, PP Rear table, JVC Bluetooth deck.

Think you would be happy with either. I have seen an EFS strut pull apart after about 7000kms but then it was because the swping and struts where not matched for height. Was using TJM springs with EFS strut. EFS strut replace the crap TJM struts and the TJM springs are apparently about 5mm taller.Nick

Ah I see, Not happy! Yea I am going to keep it all uniform using EFS Coils and EFS Struts/Shocks. Now to do some home work on weather or not I install it myself =S $500 I could be spending on something else =)1999 Prado Snowy 265/75/16 Mickey T's ATZ 4RIB, Uniden 80 channel CB, 2" EFS with PolyAirs, PP Rear table, JVC Bluetooth deck.

I got Tough Dog suspension (40mm lift) and Bilstein shocks on the recomendation of the local 4x4 shop and I love it. IMO if you can, get Bilstein shocks. With the springs, you should be happy with both.Stephen Bloomer
I did have - 2010 GXL D4D Auto, ARB bullbar, rails, sliders, winch, 40mm lift, Brown Davis bash plates and long range tank

Always use the same brand shocks with the same brand springs, this gives you the best ride, carrying/towing weight, and best off road wheel travel, as they are made to conform/work with each other. You can mix and match, but you are ruining all the development work that the good suspension companies put in, your then also compromising all the good things about a matched system. Think of it like your exhaust system, you wouldn't have different exhaust pipe sizes for each cylinder, as the engine would not be working at its best, well the same goes for you suspension.97 VX Grande, with front & rear air lockers, ARB Sahara winch bar with tigers 11 winch, 2" EFS lift, 265/75/16 Achilles Desert hawk XMT, and more.

EFS is another suspension company http://www.efsstore.com.au/prado.html croozza ABSOLUTELY swears by them. I will toss up over EFS or a King spring / Bilstien set up. The boys at Cross Country 4x4 on South Rd deal with EFS if you want to check it out furtherOur 6 year old and 3 year old try their hardest to make sure there is no time or money for the other baby
