  • Loss of boost after computer re-flash

    Gday guys!
I had the computer in my D-4D reflashed at Toyota dealer in town the other day. The service manager said it would take 1000kms to notice any difference as the computer analyses your driving styles?? Anyway, took the Prado for a good run today and noticed (via the Scanguage) that it has lost alot of boost. I thought it didnt seem to 'pull away' like it used to and sure enough, I was right.

Before the re-flash the boost guage read 12.9 pounds (accelerator flat to the floor and going up hill). Now, after the re-flash under the same driving conditions I cannot squeeze any more than 8.9 pounds of it!

Question is, does anyone know if this is normal - be it that the computer is trying to adjust to my driving style or have they re-flashed it with lower boost and it will remain at this level??

Well, I went and saw the service manager today as the problem has only come about since I had the re-flash done. He said he's never heard of a motor loosing boost after the re-flash as it only changes the fuel intake parameters when the motor is cold.
His advice was to drive it for the 1000kms and bring it back to see what it's doing.

Does anyone know if you can change the boost on the these? It's a bit unpleasant having to drive it now with 8pounds when I had 12pounds to start with!
