  • Fuel Gauge Accuracy

    Prado 120 VX 2008 4.0l petrol
Can anyone help with the accuracy of the fuel gauges? When the car was new the gauges were perfectly accurate. On a full tank I could travel 600km before the 90l light would come on. if I refilled the car would take approx 90 litres (About half!).

Now the 90l light comes on after only 50l of consumption  and the gauge reads empty early. When I refill after the warning light comes on it only takes 120 litres to full.

    And assistance appreciated.

    Re: Fuel Gauge Accuracy

that's funny, mine (2006 V6) seems to be doing the same recently athough not as bad. However, I ignore it as I have a Scangauge that is quite accurate (it always is within a litre or so)

Hi, I have a 2003 TD and ran out of diesel going up a slight hill on the way home from work. The gauge showed a bit over quarter of a tank on the last tank! I just filled up on the weekend and got 760K out of the first tank. The gauge is showing half at 1000K (so 240Ks on half a tank). It is weird.
      Can you recalibrate the gauges?
I will fill up and see how much I have left.
The scangaugeII might be a good idea
