Scenario: Installed a set of driving lamps. The battery was not fully disconnected during the install, but loosening the screw on the +ve terminal to install the high current supply lead for the lamps was evidently sufficient to confuse the window system.
Problem: The rear passenger window would close by one-touch, and then spontaneously drop by 50mm.
The recommended sequence of window down and hold button 2 seconds, window up and hold button 2 seconds, for each door in succession, did not correct the problem.
Solution: Disconnect the ground lead from the battery terminal for a few moments, then restore the ground connection. Following this, I did the window reset sequence and the problem was resolved.
Having searched the forum and not found this particular issue, I thought I may as well document the problem and its solution.
