  • Toyota Satnav Question

At long last I am now the proud owner of a 2006 120 GXL V6 Prado - picked it up last night and haven't stopped grinning yet

It has a Toyota Satnav fitted (Toyota Part No: 08662-00900) and has the model number 18019 at the bottom right corner.

Does anyone know if there is an aux input that I can connect to an iPod and is it possible to connect a reverse camera to it? I have checked the manual and it doesn't mention either of these so I'm guessing probably not.

    Thanks

Have you checked in the glove box. There should be a usb point in there?

      Cheers,
Thanks for the reply - first thing I checked, as I had read on here that was where it would be hidden - no dice

        Re: Toyota Satnav Question

The 18019 might be one of the older models and there is no factory USB/Aux input capability. Mine is 18002 from an 2003 Grande.
There is no problems fitting a reverse camera. Mine has an Eclipse camera which has the Toyota proprietary plug to plug directly into the back of the satnav.

Apparently there is an aftermarket cable for audio input --> http://www.pradopoint.com/viewtopic.php ... =20#p56800
But I don't think this cable is available anymore.

Thanks Kav, looks good but having looked for pricing only ones I could find were in the US and the postage was almost as much as the unit. For not much more I can get a TP09X1 which would give me this plus bluetooth, DVD, camera etc.

Thanks amts, where did you get your camera? There seem to lots of generic cameras on ebay but not with a Toyota plug. Most seem to be NTSC as well, is the head unit NTSC, PAL or both?

                Re: Toyota Satnav Question

The camera was installed by the previous owner. As it has a Toyota plug on it, I hesitated in upgrading the stereo to something like the TP09X1. Currently contemplating an FM modulator (as opposed to transmitter) which is a direct injection of audio into the antenna cable, or a Parrot MKi9100 for audio and bluetooth. http://www.parrot.com/au/products/hands-free-car-kits

Can anyone tell me if the 18019 model satnav has the map DVD in the head unit or under the drivers seat, I have a 18002 model but the map DVD player under my seat wont read anymore.

                  Thanks

Matt..no dramas ..all done, I hardly did u a favour anyway?? Kept the old Headunit in case I ever sell the car & buy another 120! Bizarrely I parked next to you but did not twig your sticker until I walked inside. Only reckoned it was you as there are not many of us on PP (local) left running the old KZ banger (& grande) and I'd briefly met you )!!

                            Hi Waltec,

I have the 18019 and the map DVD has its own slot in the head unit (behind the LCD screen). Hope that helps.
