does anyone know what is the minimum CCA you need for the starter battery on a 120? my starter battery died so grabbed an old one i had as a temp fill in, but every now and then it wont start unless i link it to Aux battery. thats despite it showing 12.4 to 12.5 V before i go to start it. i cant remember what this battery is but think its not too big in CCA. will check it tomorrow in daylight and compare it to what you come up with. I couldnt find anything in the car book that comes with the prado - thanks

Re: what is the minimum CCA far a 120 starter battery
620CCA is the lowest I've seen from a battery manufacturers recommendation. This was for an Exide Extreme. Most other batteries with the same case size are around the 700CCA mark.2019 GXL, Bullbar, UHF, Redarc Brake Controller, Tow Bar, Secondary Fuel Filter

Re: what is the minimum CCA far a 120 starter battery
Is this for a Petrol or Diesel 120? I think 630CCA is standard size on the V6 while Diesel (older 1KZ) is about 710CCA. Not sure on the common rail but probably up around the 700CCA as well.Nick

Re: what is the minimum CCA far a 120 starter battery
its for the 120 petrol
can someone with a petrol 120 original battery have a look at theirs to see what it says? my old one went to battery heaven.
the one i put in as a temp to keep me going is only around the 500 mark so pretty low which would explain the starting issues i guess. have to find some time for looking into a new replacement - any suggestions on brand and any ideas on price for a new suitable starter batterty??--> Macarthur District 4WD Club Member <--

Re: what is the minimum CCA far a 120 starter battery
In the late model 120 V6 it was either a Furukawa 80D26L-MF or a Yuasa 80D26L and I believe these are 630CCA.Nick

Re: what is the minimum CCA far a 120 starter battery
Yeah I iknow what you mean. I believe I had originally sourced that information from toyodiy.com. look up the relevant model and you will find the detail in there as to which batteries are supplied then search google to find the CCA or other spec detail.Nick

Hi Fellas. Simple rule when fitting a new battery. Buy the biggest bloody battery you can squeeze into the tray! Bigger is always better with electrickery. Cheers, Derb.2005 100 Series Landcruiser. 4.2 T/D 5 speed auto. LTD c/w AHC/Leather etc.
