  • LED Daytime Running Lights

I usually drive with my lights on for safety reasons however I was thinking about fitting some daytime running lights. Both Narva and Hell have ADR approved lights so they are legal unlike the rice burners and commondores you see getting around with the eBay specials. Problem is I can't think of a creative way to fit them so they look OEM. Thoughts...

        Now down to business.....

I would prefer the strip LED type, that way you could place them at the very bottom of the head lights, would look factory.

        Cheers

They would fit neater however I'd prefer an ADR approved light. I can see those strips the riceboys fit becoming defected just like fog lights.

ah, didn't know they weren't ADR approved. What bar do you have? Is there any slots already cut into it? But that may restrict airflow.

I've got the ARB bar and was thinking about ripping the parker/indicator out as it never works anyway. Problem is then I don't have an indicator on the bar and could get defected for an obscured indicator on the vehicle.

The link says they are 145mm x 41mm how would this go in the gap in the bullbar either side of the number plate?

                Cheers Andrew

                  G'day,
If you check out my rig built-up you will see that I've mounted a similar type of LED light ( for late Hilux ) in the bottom of the plastic cover on the Toyota bullbar.

New plan, I might get some of these to kill 2 birds with one stone. Hopefully they will be more reliable than the ARB supplied lights and the parkers could pass as DRL. The only thing stopping me is how much of a PITA it is to get to the ARB lights.

                      D4D,

How did you go with your lights. I ended up getting these:

Haven't been able to find a suitable round DRL. Yours look good on a black bar, would stick out a lot on my white bar.

I was in Auto barn last week and noticed they had Phillips DRL kits behind the counter. Don't know f they are what you are after but, could be food for thought.

What is the reasoning / desire to install DRLs rather that just drive with your headlights on?
