  • Electrical Pig tails Part number

I need help with ordering some wire pigtails that plug into the rear of a white connector block part number 90980-12113.

Does anyone know what the part number would be to order some pigtails?

For information, the white connector block plugs into the rear of a rear fog light switch.

The above image shows the white connector plugged into the rear of the switch. So I am looking for pig tails that will come out of the white connector block.

Not sure where they will go from there .

    Urgent help would be appreciated.

Dont suppose you know what the black connector which is located behind the switch panel to right of steering wheel is. Photo below:

The wires going into the connector are coded :
      White/ black line
      Red/ yellow line
      White/ Green line
      Pink/ Green line
      Pink/ Black line
      Green/ silver spot

I am trying to connect rear fog lights to a switch but cant find any installation manuals suitable for a Prado Grande 08 model Australian Spec which show how to connect the switch.

      Urgent help appreciated.

          Thanks for the reply.

Since you seem to know about the electrics, do you know if there are any spare wires to connect into a rear fog light switch, I cant find any and find it strange that the wire harness for the lamps is provided at the rear but doesnt seem to be anything up front where the switch should be located.

I traced what I thought was the (white/blue stripe) wire from the rear fog lamps but this seems to go into the rear of the lights dimmer switch.

          Any advice or thoughts

In response, I did complete the installation of rear fog lights. The problems I encountered were as follows:

                  1. As my Prado is an Australian 08 model, the wire harness at the rear was factory fitted and quite easy to find and simply plug new lamps into the harness.

                  Rear Lamp harness

                  2. The problem then was there was no wire harness behind the switch blanks into which to plug the Toyota switch (ref. T84165-33040) The Toyota switch also needs to connect to the body ECU and again no connection could be found. Therefore without the connection to the ECU the Toyota switch could not operate properly whereby it would switch on the LED on the instrument cluster once switched on.

                  Toyota Switch

                  3. The next problem was that Toyota in their wisdom did not install a LED under the Rear Fog Light icon on the instrument facia and also no capacitor for the LED on the rear circuit board. That said, I did find an electonics guy here in the UK that would install new LED and capacitor very cheaply about AU$5.00. But as we could not find any connection to the ECU as such this seemed to be creating additional work.
                  Missing LED on instrument facia

Missing Capacitor on rear of instrument circuit board/ facia

                  4. The solution was to get an Auto Electrician to install completely new switch. This was done by tracing the factory fitted wire harness from the rear lamps, then I purchased a new Carling Rear Fog Light Switch, which fits the blankson the Prado although a little filing was necessary for it to snap into the blank space. The switch was then wired into the main dipped lights so that the rear fog lamps will only operate when the main dipped lights on on.

Although the Carling Switch is not as neat as the Toyota switch it does the job as without a LED indicator on the instrument cluster, the switch needs to have an illuminated lamp to indicate it is on and also to be illuminated at night as other switches etc.

The Carling Switch references are as follows (web site : http://rocker-switches.carlingtech.com/ ... ch__19.asp ) :
                  273.1077 Rear Fog Lamps Legend
273.271 12v On-Off SP switch base green locating and Amber Function LE

                  Completed job with Carling Switch

One other point, New Pro also do a switch for the Prado : http://www.newpro-tech.com.au/gallery3.htm
although I am again unsure if this switch needs to connect to the body ECU or if it is simply a normal latching switch like the Carling switch. I tried to contact this supplier on numerous occasions prior to buying the Carling Switch without any success.

You may also wish to consider a Toyota switch used on the 4runner US site/ forums.

I may consider replacing the Carling switch in the future if I can get a Toyota switch that will work as a simple latching switch.

If I can help any other way drop me a reply.

Now considering installing a rear diff breather and installing an onboard air compressor.
