So I thought I'd share my experience with installing DVD headrests.
I purchased the 2 7" players from Ebay. they have:
DVD player in each, can play different DVD's or watch the same
IR headphones
IR games controller with games disk
Zip over covers
USD and SD card slots
So I started by removing the original headrests and added the sleeves that came with the new headrests as the stems attached to the new ones are too small.
Threaded the wires down the stems, this is where things got interesting, how was I going to get the wires out of the seat. Looked under the seat and removed 2 pieces of elastic holding the bottom panel of the seat.Lift the panel slightly and remove the 2 screws (as marked with red circle), then lift the panel off.
Stick your arm up the back of the seat find the cables and pull them down through the seat making sure they stay behind any solid bars.
thread them through and out the back, replace the seat panel but do not attach the elastic.
remove the top of the centre console around the gear levers. Do this by unscrewing and removing both gear knobs, unzip handbrake cable and open storage lid, then the whole top pulls off no screws to remove.
Thread cables under carpet and up into centre console, cable tying the cables to the seat and cables already in the seat.
Thread the cables up throught the centre console to the front, connect the outputs and inputs together, this allows for 1 DVD to be played on both screens.
Next step is to add some switches, I decided to go with Narva switches. Remove the switch panel, using a file round off the corners of the switch and remove some of the socket on the switch panel to make the switch fit snug. I decided to use 2 so I can turn the players on and off seperately.
Next step was to run power from the battery, but before doing this I decided to install a fuse panel under the bonnet for future additions when I opened the bonnet I realised its time I gave it a clean, but thats tomorrows job
Ran the wires through the passenger side grommet and into the switch panel. all finished and time to test.
Real happy with the results and the kids love them.
