I am thinking to put an alarm in and was wondering what one to use, I want it to interface with buttons on existing keys. Anyone have any recommendations

Re: Which alarm
Hi mudboy,
I installed a Cobra unit myself, it integrates with the key entry system on the
Prado and works very well.
Has lots of programable options and is very flexible.
I also installed the microwave sensor option which is great, if someone leans against the car
to peer in the sensor detects it and the alarm chirps a warning to back off.
You can also leave the windows down and if someone reaches in to take something the alarms will
activate.
I didn't use the immobliser part of the alarm as I thought the Prado was fairly theft proof but
after reading some of the post about Prados getting stolen will probably revist the wiring in the
future and splice the immobilser into the ignition system to prevent the vechile from starting if
the engine management system is swapped out with another.
I would pay to have someone install it for you though as there is quite a bit of wiring involved.
Cheers

Which alarm
Thanks Leigh
I have fitted one before with window interface and not in a hurry to do again so will get it installed, the only thing is finding a good place to install it, I hate letting people work on my cars who I don't know...If its not on all 4's it's not on.....

Which alarm
I did plenty of research and decided to put in the rhino rav3 which uses factory key and u cam use their fob also for 3rd key
The reason why I picked this one for this is that it has 3 point immobilizer cobra only 2 and had in built turbo timer and plenty of standard features
Price has it fitter for 450 and the company that fitted it was impressed with quality and will use these more
Regards
