    Guys

Need your help. Had the Prado serviced before our trip in a week and asked for some spares (fuel filter, hoses, air filter etc)

When I looked at the filter it is a little black metal beast. Where about is this located on the D4D? I assumed it would be the filter under the primer pump. Are there two filters?

    Re: Spares

There are four filters, (or five if you include the cabin filter).

There is the air filter located on the left had side of the egine bay in front of the ABS block. Has four clips to remove.

There is the oil filter on the right hand side of the engine block. Need an oil filter wrench to remove

There is the one fuel filter (which I assume you are talking about) on the right had side of the engine bay. There is the primer on top and located at the bottom is the water trap/sensor. Fairly easy to change. Info in your user's manual. Here is a link to changing on a 90. No real differences on a 120:

There is also a fuel filter between the two tanks. Not sure if this is also on the older diesel 120. Here is a link to some info about the two filters:

I must admit I do not know a lot about the intermediate filter but I know the one in the engine bay is a must for when you do some remote travelling and get a bit of crappy fuel then at least you have some protection. Might cost you abouyt $45.00 ish but well worth it. Should only takle about 5 to 10 minutes to change over if you need to.
