I had a problem with my 120 in that it would blow bubbles and gurgle when attempting to fill the tank with diesel. I found the last 50 litres was very difficult to fill. After a number of complaints to the local dealer, I had to resort to giving them a copy of a number of posts before they sent a mechanic with me to witness the problem. They then found there was a flap inside the main tank which was siezed closed. They managed to free it and it did not play up again.
Then I got the Prado 150 and you guessed it, it is doing the same thing. I dropped into a number of dealers but they could not find a problem. Then went to a third dealer (near NSW/Vic boarder) told them that it was the flap and they took the filler hose from the main tank and found the flap was siezed closed. Attempted to free the flap but it would not budge.
A new tank has been ordered and will be fitted next week.
As usual this happened when we were on a trip which made it very frustrating as I needed the 150 litres as we werer going off road. It was taking me 45 minutes to fill the tank. The filler nozel would stop pumping, wait for the gurgle, pour in another half a litre wait for another gurgle.... The wife was getting cranky with me so I let her fill it. She now understands.
Nifty.
