    Re: Offroad Downunder Battery Tray

I seriously looked at this tray. I do recall seeing someone else use one in a Dual battery install thread. From memory they went crazy with an anti rust spray on it. I didn't get this as I could get something similar here in Adelaide without paying the freight. IMO the tray looks very good and would be reasonably comparable to the Piranha. Another good options is the Outback Accessories tray. Opposite lock and others sell them.

I have this tray. It went in without any dramas and seems pretty solid. Very happy. So far no cracking. It's been in for about six months.

Had this for almost 70000kms including Gibb River Road, Central Highway, Cape Yorke. Haven't seen any problems yet.

As others have said - fairly easy to fit and I was impressed with construction.

              Re: Offroad Downunder Battery Tray

Put mine in (D4D not petrol) last Saturday. Fairly easy to get in but smaller hands would have helped.

Does look nice & solid compared to others I've seen. Bolts in well with everything you'll need supplied & good solid end piece. Some I've seen have what looks like a fairly light strap type of thing rather than a full piece.

              Cheers

                Hi Tony,
A really good tray, it has supported an N70 battery for nearly 2.5 years, truck has done big trips, rough roads etc. no body cracking evident and the tray battery clamps remain secure no matter what terrain, all good. Owe and I was the one who covered the inner guards, outer guard area in way of bolts and the battery tray in Valvoline Tectol doing a great job, as an aside I also protected the main wiring loom which runs behind the tray with insertion rubber.

                  Re: Offroad Downunder Battery Tray

Installed one of these yesterday, the instructions were fairly straight forward and with the help of my brother (Thanks Ian) it went in fairly easily.

Seems to hold a Supercharge Allrounder fairly well.

                  Cheers OGG

                    Re: Offroad Downunder Battery Tray

I fitted one of these trays over the weekend. I managed to do it as a "one man job" and the tray itself seems strong. My only problem is the new mounting of the power steering reservoir. It used to be mounted on a 3 legged bracket and is now down to one sharing a single nut-sert with an existing bracket. I'm not sure if the nut-serts were designed for that sort of workload. I'll have to keep an eye on it. Has anybody else had similar concerns?

                      Re: Offroad Downunder Battery Tray

I'm also now the proud owner of this battery tray. When installing it, you have to remove the wheel splash guard to fit a couple of nyloc nuts to the bolts that go through the sidewall. Whilst my arm couldn't fit, my daughter's arm could. I knew I had kids for a reason .

Really great product and 10% off for PP members!

Yes, fitting thoswe nyloc nuts was a bit tricky and I had to stretch and twist both my arm to new limits

                            Hi guys,
I'm keen to get this Off Road Downunder tray for my V6 and just want to make sure it will fit with the Liquid Injected LPG system in place. Can someone please provide some pics of the install for me....

I also have one of these fitted - been in for about ten months with no issues at all. I liked the solid mount to the inner fender and agree it was a little tricky getting the lock nuts on but well worth it. Photo's of the install are in my build thread but here's one to give an idea of the space it takes.
