HI all,
After reading a bit on a "cough cough" Pajero, site, owners were talking of the different oil specifications required for the different engines, with some needing hi end oils costing $100-150 per service just for the oil, my question is, what about the D4D NG prado150, I am going to take advantage of the $210. service but plan to do a "service" inbetween, say dump oil at 5000km and let toyota do the oil and filter at 10,000km.
I do this on my HDJ79R ute, it has 155,000km, has had oil done at 5000km and filter and oil at 10,000km and when the oil comes out it is still golden, no typical black diesel gunge, oil stays translucent on the dipstick, unlike a 1HZ powered ute that has had 7500km oil and filters from new and at 159,000. the oil is Black after 50km, same oil, same treatment.
I use Caltex Delo 15-40 which meets ecery engine spec I can see, but will it good enough for the D4D?
thanks
