  • Lightforce 240 xgt on sovereign bar

    Hi all,

Does anyone know if the lightforce 240 XGT's will fit on the sov bar? I have searched and found some pictures of the 240 blitz fitting nicely to the sov bar. If anyone has fitted the XGT's sucessfully to a sov bar before please let me know, pic's would be great.

Yes mate, they do fit. I think one of the mounting bracket may need to be spun around 180 to allow the light to sit a bit more forward, giving clearance from the top hoop bar. This is a pic of Pradogxlv6

        Thanks jcas24,

That is exactly what I was looking for. I was a bit worried as I have already bought them off ebay not knowing if they would fit.

        Cheers, Matt.

Re: Lightforce 240 xgt on sovereign bar

I've recently installed a pair on my sovereign bar.

I left the brackets in their normal position (not reversed) and drilled the holes a bit farther towards the front of the vehicle and not on the actual flat indentations of the sov bar.

It seemed that if I tried to install on the flat indentations, things were looking impossibly tight. In order to get the lights angling parallel to the ground, you would need to reverse the plastic lightforce bracket (which looks a bit odd to me) and actually mount it so far forward on the flat indentation to the point where it is actually hanging over the front lip of the flat part. The bracket then doesn't have full contact with the bumper which appears less stable.

In the end, I mounted my lights closer together so the flat indentations were of no use to me anyway. They sit nicely on the rounded part of the bar and feel solid. If it is of any use to you, I'll take some close up pics so you can see exactly where I put mine. I have about 5 mm clearance from the top of the light to the top horizontal bar of the sov bar when the lights are parallel.

              Hey Raptor50

How did you go with your install? Did they fit OK in the standard holes on the bar? Can you post a photo for me please as I'm interested in getting some. My holes were already drilled so I wasn't going to go drill more.

              Cheers

                Cheers mate!

I did see that pic before (up above) and have searched everywhere but Jcas said "I think the bracket needs to be spun around" and cause he posted a pic of your lights I just wasn't sure if he had them fitted and actually knew for sure. But if they do fit in those mounting holes I'll be out and getting them this week.

                Thanks
                Paul

                  Hi Guys,

I'm trying to fit these lights on my Sov bar today and having issues... I'm using the same holes that were drilled on the flat bit to get some Hella's in... I can put these lights in, have them point the right way, but they are touching the top hoop bar... How did pradogxlv6 have them installed on his? Are they touching too? Any probs with that?

I'm about to get the drill out and drill another hole further out... Don't like the look of having them too close together like Sterneys.

                  Thanks,
                  Loz

Just be careful if your in NSW. I know someone who was cautioned by the Police for having his driving lights protruding past the leading edge of his bull bar. He threatened to defect the vehicle. I saw the set-up and they were only about 10-15mm out front.
