It depends on the size of your negative connections really.
Easiest way to be sure is just go from + to + and - to - on each battery and you'll get out of trouble.

Re: Jump Startin off Aux Battery
ive had to jump off my aux battery (a n70zz in a battery box that usually is in the cargo area).. just took the lid off the box, and used jumper leads.. worked a charm..2004 GXL V6 5 speed auto. Re: Jump Startin off Aux Battery
I recently installed installed a projecta dual battery system. It has an over-ride button which connects the batteries if you want to jump start or something off your aux battery. I did a test last night and left everything electrical on untill the main battery was completely flat. Push the little button on projecta unit to connect the batteries and, hey presto starts like a champ. Very happy with system.

The over-ride (jump start) feature was one of the main reasons I choose the Projecta system - especially having an auto and not being able to clutch start. I've had to use it once before after I left the ignition swtiched to 'accessories' and had the stereo and all doors open over night. No need to connect/disconnect anything, just press the button on the control box and start the car.
Everything required for installation is included in the box (except a battery and tray). All in all a pretty good system all up for the price.Prado 120 - 2004 GXL V6
