  • ANDRSON PLUGS HOW TO?

    Hi all,
not sure if this topic has been covered before but I want to install an anderson plug to my Prado D4D '08 model and I need some information as to what I require to buy and how to do the job. Size of wire, solenoid etc. I will also be fitting the same to my camper trailer any help there also would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers Ray

    Ray,
Try both of theses sites for parts.
    viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5074&p=71270&hilit=anderson+p lug#p71270

Then do a search on Anderson and you will get five pages of threads.

You will really need to know what you are going to use it for, charging?, power of fridge? If it is charging you really should look at the Ranox thread,

There are a lot of threads on dual batteries as well if that is the direction that you are going.

You have just opened a box of worms for yourself.....good reading.

      Re: ANDRSON PLUGS HOW TO?

Sharpest pricing I have found is here... At least these are cheaper than I have seen anywhere else.

      http://www.traxide.com.au/anderson_7.html

I just bought some 30 A powerpoles for the solar panel and also for the tractor spray rig.

Postage was very reasonable as well as long as you are prepared to wait a few days for the post.

As to the rest of the installation there is plenty to read on this site and others on the net.

        Re: ANDRSON PLUGS HOW TO?

Thanks for the information, the anderson plug is going to charge the battery in the camper trailer from my auxillery battery whilst travelling or at least I hope it will do that.

              Re: ANDRSON PLUGS HOW TO?

              I second it Martin.

The guy from Larpro (Graham) is pretty good on prices. I'll be going there tomorrow to get a HID kit for my improvised camp light.

BTW, I have promoted PP with him. So if anyone mentions PP I'm sure he will look after from a pricing side.
              Cheers,
              Dustie

Self confessed PP addict!! hmm.. now thats not a bad habit is it......
