I realise that there are a number of specific posts about dual battery installations and I know Crammy and a few others have set up fuse boxes inside the car but has anyone put one of these under the bonnet?
My auxiliary battery has quite a number of off takes and I want to tidy that up and centralise the positions of the fuses as well as making it easier to add future connections, including the solar panel which is only used on a few outings per year. Space is pretty tight as you can see, auxiliary battery, control units, compressor etc.
So I was planning on relocating the air hose quick connect in a more convenient location by running some tubing from the compressor outlet. This frees up the area in front of the compressor as well as makes it easier to hook up the air hose. The next step would be fitting the fuse box horizontally on a bracket from the side of the engine bay/up from the mudguard. This bracket could also hold the Anderson 30A Powerpole connector for the solar panel and the compressor on/off switch. I was thinking of 6 B&S cable to the fuse box with a 50 or 60A fuse at source.
I found these which look like a good way to fit a fuse to the fuse box supply at the battery terminals.
Anyone got any comments or suggestions?
