  • Ignition left on

    Hi All,

I have a question regarding damage (if any) as a result of leaving thr ignition of my 2008 D4D in the ON position for about 24 hrs. ops:

I turned the ignition to the On position to check the Km's and then got distracted by the little bloke falling over in the back yard (noting serious). Anyway, end result was that the ignition was left on from last nite until tonight when I went to move the car and discovered that the battery was flat. Beside the flat battery, what damage could have resulted?

    Any info appreciated.

    Cheers

    Smithy.

    Re: Ignition left on

Might have burnt the points out

The intermodulation transmutalator (next to the scrunungeon valve outlet) will also have possibly had a dipthermal coupling burn out, requiring a new fallangealator valve. The phoofer valve should be OK though.

If you can't fix it with a hammer...... you have an electrical problem.

            It ain't that funny

I've done the same thing, although the ignition was only on for about thirty minutes.

What damage could this have caused, other than to the phoofer valve?

              Re: Ignition left on

Phoofer valve should be fine. (Unless it was a friday build car..)

Its the dipthermal coupling on the intermodulation transmutalator (next to the scrunungeon valve outlet) that could be gone, so check carefully around the fallangealator valve.

You and I have just achieved the impossible - we've asked a question that no one on this forum can answer :P :P :P

                  Re: Ignition left on

Bypassing the pfoofolator multibox and phangealotor valves for the moment and on to more serious things ...

The radio will have lost its memory and will have to have all the stations reset.

The auto windows will no longer be auto and will have to be reset.

You will have taken a bit of long-term life out of your battery. Crank batteries do NOT like being fully discharged.
