Does anybody know how to disassembly the headlights?
I have baught projector headlights for my 08 Prado.
But i can only reach 3 of the 4 screws to remover the headlights.
I can see the 4th one, but do i really have to remove the inner wheel arches to reach the last bolt?

Or, if anybody know how to disassemble the foglights?
I think i can reach the last screw if i can go inn through the fogliht whoile.

    Hi Ludberg,
You need to jack up your vehicle body at the front side jacking point, this will give you good wheel too arch clearance without the need to remove the wheel and release the inner guard to allow access to the headlamp assembly side bolt.

To remove a foglight assembly complete, in a normal guard the manual recommends you remove the inner guard!

    Hope this helps

You don't have to remove it completely, it's very flexible plastic, just remove enough clips to bent it out the way far enough and get your arm through.

That is correct, mickl is right! the black plastic is flexible, thats why I always jack the vehicle chassis it gives you more space to ease back the plastic, however be carefull to remove most of the plastic clips first.

How are the clips? Are they reuseable?

I thought it was popnuts (pop nails).

with a bit of fiddling you can get them out, depending on which side you're doing, you may find it easier without the battery in there. then you can see the back of the clips, they are the type that when you slide in, little bits jut out to stop it falling back out, squeeze those little bits and you can push through from the top... (if that makes sense!? ) i removed 3 of them the other day to get enough space to put the bolts on the back of the second battery tray.. did it by hand which didn't make it easier but a set of pliers would help.....

                Re: Headlight disassembly

If you are unlucky and break one they are quite cheap from Toyota. This same clip is used across a range of Toyota's so should be in stock at any dealer.
